Our Story

Long Life Gates are based in the Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne and have been manufacturing custom made gates for over 44 years and during that time have gained the knowledge and expertise regarding the manufacture and installation of all types of gates. 

Our experience allows us to design a safe and effective gate for your property whether it’s a commercial business or residential home.

The name Long Life Gates is proudly displayed on all our gates that we have manufactured and installed over the years. A majority of Long Life Gates are located in the South Eastern and Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne.

About Our Custom Built Gates

All our products are made to order and materials include All Gal Steel, Solid Wrought Iron, Timber Cladding, Timber Pickets, Colourbond, Mesh and Perforated Screens on gates for privacy, Powder Coating in a range of colours and Hot Dipped Galvanizing.

Well, I take great delight in writing this review. We had friends from the Yarra Valley refer us to Daniel and his team after they had an motorised gate installed. Probably the best experience we have had with a company and its staff. We had previously tried other companies who for various reasons never made us secure in the feeling that they understood what we wanted, why we wanted it and really never listened. Daniel and his team from the first moment until the end of the project ( pair of double motorised swing gates, fencing, pedestrian gate and inbuilt parcel letter box ) completed the project in terms of what we agreed, but also provided insight and vision to the project along the way. I had a wonderful experience with Long Life gates! The person I originally had to do the fence and gates did a terrible job and didn't finish and took off with all the color bond I had purchased. The gates fold back just enough to provide full car clearance. The welding is high quality. The auto-closure is very quiet. The letterbox is functional and unobtrusive. You have reproduced the gate pattern just as we wanted. We suggest the following: Your customer service be improved after the deposit has been paid. We understand pesky general enquiries are time consuming, however, could you give customers a hot-line? Email the customer on the progress. Use various stages of the work to prompt yourselves to advise the customer?
